xzZt. just received it. wow the new drivers have better midbass slam (surprising) than the previous ksc35, ksc75 and porta pros. loses none of the great tuning of those cans. comfortwise a tier above the rest, weighs next to nothing, so gentle the clamping force. after awhile i forget i'm wearing them. just buy it blind when in stock. well done Koss!
Although they use almost the same driver with the Porta Pros, probably titanium coating on the driver changes the sound, arguably for the better. They come with ear clips instead of a headband. As you can see in that thread, the KSC75 and UR40 share the same titanium coated driver, while the porta pro has the non-titanium driver. I would do a few searches for porta pro vs KSC75, and KSC35 vs KSC75. I think you'll find that the titanium coated drivers (UR40 and KSC75) have sparklier highs. I decided to modify my KOSS Porta Pro headphones and make them fit to the Quest 3 in order to have great sound within VR games, especially nice for Music-Games or Sim-Racing! They have a great deep bass and nice clarity.
Koss had never been very good about advertising their lifetime warranty, so I bought another Pro/4AA from Radio Shack - exactly like the original after about 20 years. Still have them. They work well when listening to stuff from the computer in the wee hours.
